Sound Healing - in support of other therapies
Although I am currently taking formal training in Sound Healing, I have been using sound to support my Breathwork and Bodywork for some time.
At its simplest, I play what feels to be appropriate music while working with a client in either of the above therapies; or sometimes I work in silence if it feels more appropriate!
However, I am increasingly using live instruments to support Breathwork with a high degree of success - as measured by client feedback The key instruments I use are Tibetan singing bowls and gongs, American Indian flutes and Pow-wow drum, and angel chimes. These are powerful instruments with strong natural resonances that help to stimulate and support natural body healing. Because of the openness induced by the Breathwork process, the client is particularly responsive to the healing powers of sound.
While doing Breathwork with a client, I have to be fully available to be with the client and so I usually have a CD, often of Singing Bowls, playing in the background to ensure that the ‘sound bath’ continues even when I am too involved with the client to play the instruments myself.
I rely on my intuitive Inspiration to guide me in what to play and when - and it has not let me down. I don’t use the instruments every time I breathe a client; only when my intuition tells me that it is appropriate.
